‘iZombie,’ ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ Get Additional Script Orders from CW

Network orders five more of freshman comedy and sophomore “zom-dram-rom-com”

Ahead of their premieres, The CW has ordered five additional scripts for freshman comedy “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and sophomore drama “iZombie.”

The script order comes in addition to the 13 episodes the network has already committed to producing for each show.

“iZombie,” which premieres its second season Tuesday, is described as a “zom-dram-rom-com” and follows Rose McIver as Liv, a med student who woke up as a zombie during the pilot, and has spent the past season investigating murders thanks to intel from the brains she was consuming to stay alive. Rob Thomas created and executive produces the show along with Diane Ruggiero.

“Crazy Ex” features YouTube star Rachel Bloom as a successful lawyer who gives up her career to move to West Covina, California after bumping into an old boyfriend. Bloom also serves as an executive producer on the show along with Aline Brosh McKenna.

The show premieres Monday, Oct. 12, followed by “Jane The Virgin.”
