Jada Pinkett Smith Teams Up With CNN on Human Trafficking Special Report

“Children for Sale” focuses on Atlanta, a U.S. hotspot for the awful criminal activity

Jada Pinkett Smith is joining forces with CNN on a special report about U.S. human trafficking, “Children for Sale.”

The hour-long telecast takes Pinkett Smith to Atlanta — a trafficking hotspot — to unravel the complicated web of human trafficking that’s happening stateside. There, she’ll follow undercover officers on raids and rescues of underage victims, accompany aid workers on outreach missions, and spend time with the survivors in shelters as they share their harrowing stories.

“For me, this project is extremely important because I want the world to understand the dangers that every kid in America is susceptible to,” Pinkett Smith said. “Human trafficking is one aspect of the vulnerabilities and obstacles that we are confronted with. People who sell children are monsters.”

The CNN special was executive produced by Jennifer Hyde, and produced by Ken Shiffman, Tina Matherson and Leif Coorlim.

The project was overseen by Michael Bass, CNN’s executive vice president for Programming.

“Children for Sale: The Fight to End Human Trafficking” airs Tuesday, July 21 at 9 p.m. on CNN, CNN International and via CNNgo.
