Jamie Foxx’s ‘Beat Shazam’ Renewed for Season 2 at Fox

Game show recently awarded its first million-dollar prize

Jamie Foxx’s is putting more music fans to the test.

Fox has renewed game show “Beat Shazam” for a second season, the network announced on Wednesday.

The series, hosted by Foxx, is currently airing its first season this summer. Mariah Carey pays a visit during Thursday’s new episode.

“Jamie is the ultimate host and entertainer,” said Rob Wade, president of alternative entertainment and specials at Fox. “He’s a larger-than-life personality, with a passion for music that’s infectious, and we can’t wait to have him return for another great round of ‘Beat Shazam’ in Season 2.”

The show has averaged a multi-platform audience of 4.4 million viewers in Season 1, making it summer’s top music series.

“Beat Shazam,” which recently crowned its first million-dollar winners, is produced by Apploff Entertainment and MGM Television in association with Shazam. Foxx, Jeff Apploff, Mark Burnett, Barry Poznick, Rich Riley and Lauren Zalaznick are executive producers.

“Beat Shazam” airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
