Jared Abrahamson Joins Finn Wittrock, Emilie de Ravin in ‘Submarine Kid’

Eric Bilitch is directing the indie movie, which co-stars Nancy Travis and Hunter Cope

After working with Bella Thorne on the upcoming thriller “Home Invasion,” Jared Abrahamson has been cast alongside Finn Wittrock in the indie movie “The Submarine Kid,” TheWrap has learned.

Eric Bilitch is directing from a script he co-wrote with Wittrock, who will soon be seen in Angelina Jolie‘s “Unbroken.”

Wittrock stars as a U.S. Marine who returns home from a horrific wartime experience and begins to gravitate towards a mysterious woman (Emilie de Ravin, “Lost”) on her own determined journey. Together, they enter into a magical and destructive new existence to expose their ultimate truths.

Abrahamson will play Wittrock’s younger brother, while Nancy Travis will play their mother. Hunter Cope, Alphonso McCauley and Joe Massingill will co-star as Wittrock’s buddies.

Deborah Del Prete of Coronet Films is producing with Jason Gurvitz of Green Dog Films, while Monica Raymund and John Styles are executive producing. Production starts next week in Los Angeles.

Abrahamson recently shot the Voltage Pictures/Silver Pictures thriller “Home Invasion,” which stars Ioan Gruffudd, Bella Thorne, Chandler Riggs, Natalie Martinez and Leigh Whannell. He also wrapped the indie feature “Within the Dark” and recurs on MTV’s “Awkward.” Abrahamson, who previously appeared in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days,” is repped by CESD, Thruline Entertainment and Lauren Levitt and Associates in Canada.
