Jeffrey Dean Morgan is ready to play bad cop for CBS.
Morgan (“Watchmen,” “Magic City”) has joined the network’ drama for its second season, which will premiere in summer 2015.
The series stars Halle Berry as female astronaut Molly Woods, who discovers that she has unwittingly put the human race on a path of destruction, but who may be the only hope for survival, along with a mysterious stranger.
Morgan will play JD Richter, who’s described as a roguish womanizer and a cop of the future who is a mercenary/bounty hunter. He is free-wheeling, hard-drinking and fearless, bordering on reckless, mostly because he has nothing to lose. According to the description provided to the network, he is the everyman who thought he had seen everything until Molly enters his life.
The series hails from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios.
United Talent Agency and Rob Gomez Management represent Morgan.
