Jennifer Lawrence to Get Up Early, Announce Oscar Nominations

The “Winter’s Bone” nominee will join Academy president Tom Sherak in the task

Jennifer Lawrence is not going to be nominated, but she'll still have to get up very early the morning that Oscar nominations are unveiled.

Jennifer LawrenceIn fact, Lawrence will have to be up even earlier than the prospective nominees, because she will join Academy president Tom Sherak in announcing the 2011 Academy Awards nominations at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

The job entails showing up at the Academy's Beverly Hills headquarters a couple of hours earlier than that to go over the nominees before revealing them on the worldwide broadcast — which means that either she or Sherak will likely receive some early-morning lessons in how to pronounce Hazanavicius, among other potential tongue-twisters.

Lawrence was nominated for Best Actress last year for "Winter's Bone."

The 84th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Kodak Theater.
