Jennifer Lopez on ‘American Idol’ Cancellation: ‘It’s not Over ‘Til It’s Over’ (Video)

The singer also talks about her upcoming Las Vegas residency

Jennifer Lopez appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Friday and said of “American Idol’s” upcoming final season, “It’s not over ’til it’s over.”

“After the finale this week and you feel that moment. You remember why you love this show,” Lopez said. “It just gives opportunity where there is none. And it’s about dreams. And it’s about everything that America is about.”

Lopez also said she couldn’t say for certain whether or not the show would ever return. “Well Cher has retired many times too,” DeGeneres quipped. Lopez responded, “That’s right. Rolling Stones have gone on their farewell tour how many times?”

Lopez also spoke about her upcoming residency in Las Vegas. “I’ll be doing like 40 shows there next year and for the next couple years,” she said.

“I’m like, ‘Should I do magic? Should I disappear? Maybe I’ll do like this and then I’ll have a new outfit on … maybe I’ll fly. Maybe I’ll swim.’ I don’t know,” she continued.
