Jimmy Kimmel Compares Democratic Candidates to a Cheesecake Factory Menu: Buttigieg is ‘Children’s Brunch’ (Video)

ABC late-night host left no page unturned with the extended joke

Jimmy Kimmel gave his ABC late-night audience a quick rundown of the evening’s Democratic debate on Tuesday night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” using terms everyone understands: the Cheesecake Factory menu.

“It’s like the menu at the Cheesecake Factory,” he joked of the 12 candidates who debated at the joint CNN/New York Times event in Ohio a few hours earlier. “There’s too much to choose from.”

Here’s how he described the candidates who are “all trying to defeat the world-famous pumpkin cheesecake, Donald Trump.”

“Joe Biden is the old-fashioned burger. Elizabeth Warren is the super ‘antioxidant’ salad because it seems kind of good, but also like it’s trying a little bit too hard. Bernie: chicken salad sandwich … All over your chin,” Kimmel said, targeting frontrunners former vice president Joe Biden and senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. “Mayor Pete [Buttigieg] is the children’s brunch.”

Former congressman Beto O’Rourke and entrepreneur Andrew Yang are “roadside sliders,” he went on, “because they’re always falling off their skateboards.”

Senators Cory Booker and Amy Klobuchar got roasted for being bald and unmemorable, respectively, while Rep. Tulsi Gabbard was compared to the luau salad: “Hawaiian and mostly nuts.”

California Senator Kamala Harris was avocado toast, former secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro was a Baja taco and Tom Steyer was the impossible burger. Watch above to hear why.
