Jimmy Kimmel Won’t Let Matt Damon Buy LA Clippers After ‘How Badly It Went When He Bought a Zoo’ (Video)

The ABC late-night host ripped the actor — as usual — during his monologue, and said the “Behind the Candelabra” star was “banned for life” from his show

Jimmy Kimmel heard Matt Damon express a “super-tiny” amount of interest in buying the Los Angeles Clippers from disgraced owner Donald Sterling, and naturally, was outraged.

“I’m not going to stand by and let Matt Damon buy the Clippers,” Kimmel said on Thursday. “Let’s not forget how badly it went when he bought a zoo.”

The joke is a reference to Damon’s 2011 movie, “We Bought a Zoo,” directed by Cameron Crowe (“Almost Famous”). The family comedy actually got decent reviews, but apparently, Kimmel didn’t like it.

Kimmel’s rant came after Damon joked with MSNBC that he doesn’t have “Donald Sterling money,” but would “jump in as a super-tiny minority partner” with Magic Johnson, a former NBA player-turned-businessman who has expressed interest in putting a bid in for the team.

“Now he’s claiming to be a minority. How convenient … Can you believe this guy” Kimmel quipped. “This could be the first time a major sports team has been bought using money earned from making out with Michael Douglas.”

The “Behind the Candelabra” star last appeared on Kimmel’s ABC late-night show in February, during which the entire “Monuments Men” cast helped Kimmel make fun of him. Due to Damon’s facetious interest in the Clippers, though, the actor has been “banned for life” from “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The fake feud rolls on.
