Jon Stewart on Romney’s $10K Bet: ‘A Mormon Gambling With an Evangelical Over Who’s the Bigger Liar’ (Video)

"Are there no commandments left?"

Jon Stewart went to town on Monday on Mitt Romney's attempt to bet Rick Perry $10,000 during the weekend's Republican debate.

Perry said that in Romney's first book, he expressed support for individual mandates in health — but removed his support from a later edition of the book. Romney then challenged him to a $10,000 bet — which led to criticisms that he is out of touch with struggling Americans who don't have that kind of money to throw around.

Said Stewart on "The Daily Show": "This is awesome! A Mormon gambling with an evangelical over who's the bigger liar. Are there any commandments left?"

Correspondent John Oliver weighed in with his analysis, saying the bet fed into Romney's image as an "an out of touch multimillionaire."

"Everything about Romney tells the tale of a man who just fired your dad," Oliver said.
