Gingrich latest to surge… ho-hum

You'll forgive Jon Stewart if he's not so sure Newt Gingrich will get the Republican presidential nod.

The "Daily Show" host noted Thursday that Gingrich is only the latest apparent frontrunner in a campaign in which media pundits have, again and again, said candidates were surging one month only to dismiss them the next.

It's not just the pundits' fault: Republican voters can't seem to decide who they want. Which means Michele Bachmann, then Rick Perry, then Herman Cain have all been the candidate of the moment.

If only for a moment.

When, Stewart asks, might Ron Paul get his time in the spotlight?

"You've given everyone else a chance," Stewart said.
