‘Judge Judy’ Coming to Primetime

CBS special “Judge Judy Primetime” will air May 20

Judy Sheindlin, the reigning queen of daytime court shows, is coming to primetime. At least for one night.

Sheindlin will star in the special “Judge Judy Primetime,” which premieres on CBS May 20 at 8 p.m.

Much like her syndicated daytime show “Judge Judy,” the one-hour special will feature Sheindlin dispensing her no-nonsense, tough-but-fair brand of justice in new cases. It will also trace her path from New York Family Court judge to pop-culture phenomenon.

The special will also include excerpts from the 1993 “60 Minutes” profile on Sheindlin, as well as their 2003 follow-up story on her.

“Judge Judy” has been the No. 1 show in first-run syndication for the last three years and No. 1 in daytime for four consecutive seasons.
