Justin Bieber Hijacks James Corden’s Opening Monologue (Video)

Pop star makes surprise appearance on CBS’ “The Late Late Show”

Justin Bieber made a surprise appearance on Thursday’s “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” taking over the opening monologue from the late-night host.

Bieber came out dressed in a suit to thunderous applause. He immediately began warming up the crowd with a few jokes about Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and the CEO of Yahoo.

But the game was up when Corden stormed out from backstage wearing a bathrobe. “I’m getting in the bath, I’ve lit a scented candle, I hear the music playing, clearly I’m not ready!” Corden said.

When Corden asked bandleader Reggie Watts why he would play the opening music when Corden wasn’t prepared, Watts claimed that Bieber and Corden look so much alike he didn’t no the difference. While Corden agreed with that assessment, Bieber vigorously denied it.

When Corden confronted Bieber as to why he would try and steal his show, Bieber said sadly that he just wants a late-night show of his very own. Eventually, Corden agreed to let Bieber close out the monologue.

Justin Bieber and Corden have created comedic gems together in the past, with Bieber appearing on two of Corden’s trademark “Carpool Karaoke” segments.
