Former News Anchor Accuses Kevin Spacey of Groping Her 18-Year-Old Son: ‘This Was a Criminal Act’

“There was no consent,” Heather Unruh says

During an emotional press conference on Wednesday, former news anchor Heather Unruh accused actor Kevin Spacey of sexually assaulting her son last year when he was 18 years old.

Unruh, a former anchor for Boston’s WCVB newscast, said the actor plied her son with alcohol after meeting him at a bar on Nantucket Island in July 2016 and then grabbed is genitals without consent.

“My son was not of legal age to drink alcohol. He told Kevin Spacey that he was of legal age. But whether he was over 21 or not, Kevin Spacey has no right to sexually assault him. There was no consent,” she said.

“Kevin Spacey bought him drink after drink after drink and when my son was drunk Kevin Spacey made his move and sexually assaulted him,” Unruh added. “We want to make it clear, this was a criminal act.”

Unruh described what she said transpired in graphic detail: “Spacey stuck his hand inside my son’s pants and grabbed his genitals. This was completely unexpected. My son’s efforts to shift his body to remove Spacey’s hands were only momentarily successful.”

In the end, Unruh said her son — whom she did not otherwise identify — managed to escape when Spacey excused himself to use the restroom.

“The victim, my son, was a starstruck straight 18-year-old young man who had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator or that he was about to become his next victim,” she said.

Reps for Spacey have not responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.
