Kiefer Sutherland: ’24’ Movie a Go This Year

Actor says it’s hard to find a fresh story after eight seasons

Let the countdown begin, set your watches, etc.: Kiefer Sutherland says a "24" movie will start shooting this year.

"It's a very difficult thing to take something you've done for eight years, almost two hundred episodes, and try to find a story that's going to be unique and yet service the history of the show as well," Sutherland told Extra. He said it would start shooting in about eight months.

The show ended its eighth and final season season in May on a bit of a cliffhanger, with Jack Bauer on the run from CTU.

Before he starts shooting the movie, Sutherland will appear on Broadway in "That Championship Season" with "The Good Wife" star Chris Noth."
