Chrissy Teigen and James Corden rushed to the defense of Kim Kardashian West, who was being mocked on social media Sunday by some after news broke she was robbed at gunpoint inside an apartment in Paris.

Teigen, without specifically naming her friend Kardashian West, posted a series of tweets reflecting on the relationship between celebrities and the often unforgiving public.

Kardashian West was tied up by armed robbers, locked in a bathroom, and had over $10 million worth of jewelry stolen on Sunday night, according to the Associated Press.

Kardashian West was in Paris staying at a private residence when the burglary took place. The burglars are still at large. A spokesperson said the reality TV star is “badly shaken but physically unharmed.”

The men were dressed as police officers and wore ski masks, and put a gun to her temple, according to Reuters. Paris police official told the AP that five assailants stole a jewelry box containing valuables worth between $5.6 and $6.7 million, as well as a ring worth about $4.5 million.

Meanwhile, Piers Morgan and Leona Lewis sent their support to Kardashian West. The latter recalled being attacked “years later,” possibly referencing the time the “Bleeding Love” singer was punched in the face while signing autographs in 2009 in London.
