Leonardo DiCaprio is planning a warm welcome for Hillary Clinton when she returns to Hollywood as the official Democratic nominee next month.
The Oscar winner is set to host a lunchtime fundraiser at his Los Angeles home, a person with knowledge of the event told TheWrap on Monday. Joining him as host of the event are Jennifer and Tobey Maguire, Jennifer Aniston, Scooter and Yael Braun, Shonda Rhimes and ICM Partners’ Chris Silbermann.
Scheduled for Aug. 23, tickets will cost $33,400 per person, with the first $2,700 going to the Clinton campaign, and the remainder benefitting the DNC and state and local parties.
Clinton will also be the guest of honor at a fundraiser the day before, co-hosted by Haim and Cheryl Saban, Willow Bay and Disney CEO Bob Iger, L.A. Olympics bid chief Casey Wasserman (and his wife, Laura), Marilyn and Jeffrey Katzenberg, Megan and Peter Chernin, Alba and Thomas Tull of Legendary, and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Jon Vein. The event follows a reception at the home of Magic and Cookie Johnson in Beverly Hills.
The cost is $2,700 per guest, which scales up to $100,000 per couple to co-host the event and get a photo and dinner with the candidate.
In addition, Hillary Clinton will attend an afternoon event in Laguna Beach on Aug. 23 hosted by Diamond Resorts CEO Stephen Cloobeck and his wife Chantal, as well as Janet Keller. The cost is $33,400 per guest, with $100,000 for co-hosts.
Finally, Mike Levin, Frank Barbaro and Melahat Rafiei will host a conversation with the candidate in Laguna Beach later that day, charging $2,700 per guest.
Known for his dedication to environmental issues, “The Revenant” star DiCaprio has been a loyal supporter of Clinton’s since she first announced that she was running for office.
