Leslie Jones is not only ghostbusting these days — she’s also troll-busting.
Internet haters in the guise of “Ghostbusters” purists have been focusing their negative energy on the all-female leading cast of Sony’s upcoming sci-fi action comedy ever since the film entered production.
And the group has been directing especially ugly hate speech at Jones.
The “Saturday Night Live” star fought back early Monday in a series of tweets, calling out certain mean commenters for being both sexist and racist.
“What will you tell your daughter when she wants to dress like a [Ghostbuster] for Halloween,” Jones asked. “You gonna tell them they can’t be one? I liked to see that.”
Jones continued: “Are you gonna tell her the bullshit you tweeting to me. The sexist most racist comments ever. Are you gonna show that? It’s very sick and sad.”
A few months ago, the vitriol got so bad that Jones shared with her followers that she considered quitting Twitter altogether. Alas, she decided to hang in there.

Critics have been giving the film, starring Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon, warm reviews. Playing the titular New York City-based paranormal police, “Ghostbusters” revolves around a whole new haunt that threatens to raise hell all over the Big Apple as the ladies gear up to fight a growing number of dangerous apparitions.
But for all the praise citing laugh-out-loud jokes and affable onscreen camaraderie, there are also some jeers for a predictable, overly effects-laden climax.
The overriding consensus is that the women-led reboot is a satisfying summer popcorn flick.
Some critics even addressed the vocal group of purported “Ghostbusters” purists who campaigned against the film — and Jones — on social media.
Jones gets some of the biggest laughs in the movie. So, to borrow from a line from the film: Suck it, trolls!
“Ghostbusters” opens in theaters on Friday.
