‘Let Me In’ Casts Teen Stars, Richard Jenkins

Smit-McPhee, Moretz set for remake of Swedish vampire pic.

Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins ("The Visitor"), Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloe Moretz will topline "Let Me In," Matt Reeves’ remake of Swedish vampire film "Let the Right One In."

Hammer Films acquired remake rights to the horror smash at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival and will produce the remake, which starts principal photography in November in New Mexico for a 2010 release. Overture Films will handle U.S. distribution, with Exclusive Film Distribution handling worldwide sales and distribution.

Reeves ("Cloverfield") cast Smit-McPhee ("The Road") and Moretz ("(500) Days of Summer") as the adolescent leads, Owen and Abby. Jenkins will play the character known as Hakan in the original film.

 

Hammer’s Simon Oakes, Guy East and Nigel Sinclair and Donna Gigliotti are producers. Executive producers are Hammer’s Alex Brunner and Tobin Armbrust along with John Ptak, Philip Elway and Fredrik Malmberg. Swedish producers John Nordling and Carl Molinder, who produced the original film, are are involved as producers on the remake.

 

 

"Let Me In" is the first film in a two-picture co-production, financing and distribution agreement between Overture Films and Exclusive Media Group, the parent company of Hammer Films and Spitfire Pictures.
