Sophia Di Martino is in talks to join Tom Hiddleston in Marvel Studios’ “Loki” series for Disney+.

There is no word on who Di Martino is playing. Di Martino marks the first casting for the series aside from Hiddleston. Marvel Studios declined to comment.

Hiddleston, of course, will reprise his villainous Loki from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will follow the version of the trickster that escaped with the Tesseract during the Time Heist in “Avengers: Endgame.” The character first appeared in “Thor” in 2011, and was the main villain of the first “Avengers” film, before showing up again in “Thor: The Dark World” and “Thor: Ragnarok.” That version of him was killed off in the opening moments of “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Kate Herron is helming the series for Marvel Studios.

“Loki” will debut in Spring 2021 and will be the third Marvel Studios series, following “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” and “WandaVision.” Other series from Marvel Studios include “Hawkeye,” “She-Hulk,” “Ms. Marvel,” “Moon Knight” and the animated “What If…”

“Falcon and Winter Soldier” will be the first to premiere on Disney+ in Fall 2020 and will bring back Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier. Emily Van Camp and Daniel Bruhl will reprise their MCU roles as well, with Wyatt Russell joining as John Walker.

Di Martino is known for the Netflix series “Flowers” and most recently appeared in Universal’s “Yesterday.”

Variety first reported the casting.
