Mark Wahlberg Prepares to Meet Pope Francis in New ‘Wahlburgers’ Clip (Exclusive Video)

New episode of reality series airs tonight at 9 p.m. on A&E

Mark Wahlberg has played all kinds of parts, but nothing can prepare him to play host to Pope Francis in a new episode of “Wahlburgers.”

In an exclusive clip of this week’s episode obtained by TheWrap, Wahlberg flies to Philadelphia to host The Festival of Families to honor Pope Francis, where Mark performs the emcee gig of a lifetime. Wahlberg’s friend Jonathan Angel, a former “Saved by the Bell: The New Class” star,  comes along for the ride.

Also in this week’s episode, Alma, Paul and Bob attend the annual Wahlberg family reunion where Brandon gets his first chance to join the family poker game.

Wahlberg hosted the Pope during the celebration in September. During the ceremony, Wahlberg jokingly asked for forgiveness for his work on “Ted.”

“He whispered in my ear that he liked the movie ‘Ted,’” Wahlberg told the pontiff and the crowd. “I told him that was not appropriate for his age. Holy Father, please forgive me.”

“Wahlburgers” is produced by 44 Blue Productions, Closest to the Hole Productions, Donnie D Productions and Leverage Entertainment.
