The masked face of ISIS became the stuff of nightmares last year after he beheaded American journalists Steven Sotloff and James Foley on video. John, whose real name was Mohammed Emwazi, is believed to have been killed in November in a joint American-British drone strike.

In September, reporters covering the European refugee crisis on the Hungarian-Serbian border caught Petra Laszlo, a Hungarian camerawoman, tripping and kicking a refugee with a child in his hands. The incident went viral and Laszlo was fired.
