“The Masked Singer” was an instant hit for Fox — and then it got even better with delayed viewing. Last night, the second week of the bizarre singing competition was again the highest-rated show in primetime, but it lost almost a quarter of its huge (for Fox) debut audience.

Wednesday’s “Masked Singer” slipped 23 percent in ratings from its first week, and was down 24 percent in terms of total viewers. Fox still won primetime among adults 18-49, but it settled for third in average overall audience size. NBC was No. 1 in total viewers and runner-up in the key demo.
