Fox News Suspends Gingrich, Santorum Until They Say They’re Not Running in 2012

But Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee not included in suspension

Fox News announced on Wednesday that Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum — both paid contributors to Fox News, both considering a run for president — have been suspended until they decide what their plans are for 2012.

Bret Baier made the announcement on the air. The suspension is effective for 60 days, he said, adding that their contracts would be terminated on May 1st "unless they notify Fox they are not running for president."

Note that another pair of paid pundits mulling 2012 presidential runs — Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee — have not been suspended by Fox … yet.

Baier added that Wednesday's announcement "does not preclude other announcements that may be made in the future."
