Crackle and Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” is returning for 24 new episodes, which will roll out this summer and in 2014.
Now Sony Pictures, Crackle, and Seinfeld have announced that Acura will be the exclusive sponsor for the 24 new episodes. Brokered by CAA on behalf of Seinfeld, the deal encompasses custom, “contextually relevant” ads, which will play before and after each episode, as well as several product integration opportunities. One of these opportunities will be for the new Acura MDX, which will be the featured car in an upcoming episode.
The comedy/talk series, which consists of Seinfeld and his comedian friends driving around, grabbing coffee, and pretty much talking about whatever is on their mind, recently earned Seinfeld a special Webby Award for Outstanding Comedic Performance. The second season will bring on comedy heavyweights like David Letterman, Chris Rock, Sarah Silverman, and Don Rickles. Produced by Sony Pictures Television’s Embassy Row, the show will be available on Crackle and ComediansinCarsGettingCoffee.com.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
