The first episode of the second season of “Video Game High School” generated more than 1.3 million views in its first three days. About a third of those views (more than 300,000) happened on RocketJump.com, where the series’ mixed frame rate edition is available via a custom video player created by Collective Digital Studio. The numbers are apparently on par with how the first season premiere of ‘VGHS’ did on YouTube, according to spokespeople for CDS. If that is the case, then it’s certainly welcome news for CDS and Rocket Jump — the second season consists of six TV-length episodes (25–35 minutes), whereas the first season was pretty much a two-hour movie cut up into nine short-form episodes. ‘VGHS’ Season One ended up collecting more than 55 million views across those nine episodes and other, related content. If the second season is able to pull in similar numbers across both YouTube and RocketJump.com, CDS, Rocket Jump, and their advertising partners (on and off YouTube), have a hit on their hands.
The second season premiered early Friday morning/late Thursday night (1 am ET/10 pm PT). The plan is to release new episodes every Friday over the next five weeks.
