ABC News and Yahoo News have had a nearly two-year partnership to create and distribute news content online. A lot of this has come in the form of original video programming, ranging from live coverage of tentpole events during the most recent election cycle to daily shows anchored by ABC’s on-air and Yahoo’s editorial talent.
Last December, ABC News launched “GMA Live,” a 15-minute add-on to “Good Morning America” that streams live every morning at 9:15 am ET across GoodMorningAmerica.com, ABCNews.com, and Yahoo.
Today, the partners are expanding two more ABC programs to the web by launching “Beyond the Headline” and “Nightline Fix,” which serve as online-only extensions of “World News with Diane Sawyer” and “Nightline,” respectively.
“Beyond The Headline”: Diane Sawyer and a team of world-class correspondents deliver that extra interesting nugget with insights from correspondents all over the world. “Beyond The Headline” offers the story behind the story and will also feature Person of the Week, which we know is a favorite for viewers.
“Nightline Fix”: On a daily basis, the team will deliver signature enterprise journalism with an edge. This original program gives you a first-look into the stories featured on “Nightline” from entertainment to pop-culture trends to breaking news and international exposés. Some of the first episodes provide an inside look at the global investigation into the killing of tens of thousands of elephants for ivory trade, and answer the question “Why Won’t Jennifer Aniston Join Twitter?”
Both shows are available via Yahoo News and are complemented by articles on the topics being covered.
