About a month ago, Variety reported that FishBowl World Media president and CEO Bruce Gersh was set to exit the company. It signaled a time of change for the independent production company, as VideoInk had learned around the same time that David Beebe had left his post as SVP of FishBowl’s Digital Studio. Beebe later indicated to us that this was not entirely true, saying he was “still a part of the FishBowl family,” but in more of an advisory role.
We know more about that relationship today, as FishBowl has announced a new partnership with David Beebe Projects, a new digital entertainment company from the veteran media executive that is also launching today. Per the announcement, DBP will serve as “a strategic advisor” for FishBowl as it looks to expand its digital efforts in developing original content and web series.
“David Beebe played a critical role in helping FishBowl develop its original digital content,” said Vin Di Bona, chairman of FishBowl Worldwide Media in a statement. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with as a strategic partner and developing new digital series and properties.”
FishBowl will be DBP’s first client/partner, Beebe and co. have their sights set on partnering with more media companies, brands, and creators to produce and advise them on original programming and other types of entertainment projects across screens and formats.
Beebe says as much in a statement in which he credits his experience at FishBowl for fueling his decision to launch DBP and work with other organizations and talent in the digital entertainment space.
During Beebe’s time at FishBowl, he oversaw the development of web shows like “Ultimate Proposal,” “Ultimate Surprises,” and “Stunt Nation” for Yahoo, and “Petsami,” “Toddletale,” and “Lindo Victoria Fracaso” on YouTube.
