Zazoom Media, the producers of the “Buzz60” online news video program, is partnering with Blinkx on a co-branded video channel called Blinkx Buzz. Similar to “Buzz60,” the new channel will focus on creating original videos tied to the top news stories and videos of the week. In terms of format, it appears the Blinkx Buzz videos will mimic the style of “Buzz60,” which Zazoom COO Steve Bradbury has previously described as covering the news but with an added “take” — an interesting item or angle that viewers remember long after the video has finished.
In terms of the scope of coverage, Blinkx Buzz videos will focus on everything from celebrity news to “bizarre headline news” to trending movie trailers and music videos.
Zazoom has a longstanding partnership with Blinkx with the latter serving as one of the many distribution partners for “Buzz60.” In fact, Grab Media, which was recently acquired by Blinkx, is also a distribution outlet for “Buzz60.”
Zazoom and Blinkx also recently partnered to produce four original series for Blinkx, including “Ella TV” (covering beauty and fashion for 18- to 34-year-old women), “Mom IQ” (advice and tips for mom issues), “Giant Realm TV” (covering all things gadgets, games, and entertainment), and “Blinkx TV” (a weekly roundup of viral content on the web).
Other content/distribution partners for Zazoom and “Buzz60” include AOL On, NDN, Yahoo, and YouTube.
