BroadbandTV, a Canadian-based MCN which claims to be the fourth-largest on YouTube, has launched a new creator tool to enable its channel partners to better manage and optimize their video content.
Titled VISO Catalyst, the product is designed to help creators more quickly and efficiently optimize videos. BroadbandTV says it does this by displaying “vital information” upfront, including number of views and subscribers, the amount of time users spend viewing their content, and estimated monthly revenue. Other tools include “constantly evolving” keyword and thumbnail optimization and video deployment and customization tools.
VISO Catalyst will be available for no extra cost to existing VISO and TGN partners. VISO is BroadbandTV’s general YouTube creator branch while TGN is the MCN’s video-game network.
BroadbandTV has already tested out the tool, claiming that 55,000 videos have already used the platform, which has been available in a closed beta since June.
A January analysis of 1,062 random videos across VISO and TGN found that on average users of VISO Catalyst saw a 34% increase in views in a 30-day span, according to BroadbandTV.
In June, BroadbandTV, which generates a billion monthly views across 10,000 channel partners, received a $36 million investment from European broadcaster RTL Group. The company also has a content-management business, through which it works with brands to find copyrighted content uploaded by fans and monetize it. Brand clients include the NBA, Discovery, and A&E, among others.
Earlier in the summer, Fullscreen launched a similar tool for its network of creators, designed to help them increase views on the platform and access revenue data.
