This year marked the 10th anniversary of Advertising Week, the annual gathering in New York of pretty much everyone you know (or don’t know but still exist) in the world of advertising, media, and entertainment. From industry-celebrities (and real-world celebrities) like Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, and DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, to industry mainstays like IAB CEO Randall Rothenberg and Tremor Video CRO Randall Rothenberg, there are a lot of familiar and unfamiliar faces that descend upon New York to talk about the current state of advertising and communications and what the future may hold. Understandably, that means for anyone attending Advertising Week, it can be an overwhelming experience. From the sheer number of panels to party-after-party-after-party, there is a very real danger for people who have an active “Fear-of-Missing-Out” syndrome.
