Hulu’s next original comedy series, “The Wrong Mans,” will make its US premiere at the New York Television Festival at the end of this month. Taking place the night of October 26 at Tribeca Cinemas, the premiere will serve as the ninth annual NYTVF’s “signature” event, which will encompass a red carpet, a screening of the first two episodes, and a Q&A session with the series’ creators, writers, and stars.
“The Wrong Mans” tells the story of two lowly office workers who become embroiled in a deadly criminal conspiracy, and are naturally in way over their heads. The show is Hulu’s second co-production with BBC, via a deal brokered by BBC Worldwide Americas. It’s co-written by Tony Award-winner James Corden (“Doctor Who”), who also stars as one of the main characters, opposite Mathew Baynton (“Spy”). The other co-writer is Jim Field Smith (“Episodes”), who also produced and directed the series. Mark Freeland executive produced “The Wrong Mans” for BBC.
The first season, which will span six episodes, will premiere on Hulu on November 11.

The Wrong Mans centers on Sam (Baynton), and Phil (Corden), two lowly office workers who become caught up in a deadly criminal conspiracy after Sam discovers a ringing phone at the scene of a horrific car crash. Answering this phone turns his world upside down, as he and Phil soon realize it’s up to them to step up and save the day. They are in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the wrong skills. They are The Wrong Mans.
