Vimeo Pro accounts are getting a plethora of new upgrades today. Previously unavailable to users paying the annual $199 fee, upgrades to Vimeo Pro accounts will give members 1TB of total storage a year with a weekly allotted amount of 20GB. Prior to the upgrade, Vimeo Pro accounts were only given 50GB of storage space. It’s a massive increase in upload space, which alone seems worth the $199 price tag.
Pro users now also have access to the video site’s VOD service, which lets them post films while sharing a 90/10 revenue split with Vimeo. HD video view restrictions have also been lifted, allowing for unlimited plays on any platform.
Finally, Vimeo is beefing up its customer service strategy, promising that all email queries from Pro users will answered within one hour on weekdays and one day on weekends. While it may seem like an arbitrary service to promise, timely and responsive customer service will further solidify Vimeo as the twee-heavy, hands-on video site it’s perceived as. It’s an important distinction to make for the video service, which is often in competition with YouTube, a video site that is consistently being attacked for being less than responsive to its creators’ needs.
