Hearst is clearly attempting to break into the world of online video in a big way and recently promoted two execs, George Kliavkoff and Neeraj Khemlani, to help push the company’s vision forward. Kliavkoff and Khemlani will serve as co-president of the Entertainment and Syndication group.
In addition to supporting CEO Steven R. Swartz with Hearst’s cable ventures, A+E Networks and ESPN, Kliavkoff and Khemlani will look to develop new streaming video and digital media projects.
The dual promotions come at an opportune time for Hearst, as the company clearly is looking further its reach into digital. The company made headlines earlier this week by announcing its partnership with AwesomenessTV. The partnership, as reported, will kick off with a teen-centric YouTube network, which will launch with a Seventeen magazine channel as its main focus.
