IGN and G4 host Jessica Chobot is launching a tri-weekly news program on the Nerdist Channel. The show, titled “Nerdist News,” will present same-day news about film, games, tech, and science.
Chobot, who is best known for her work on IGN’s “Weekly Wood,” will helm the show and provide analysis and insight into “the stories nerds are talking about.” Initially slated for three times a week, “Nerdist News” plans to expand to a full five-day schedule.
Episodes will also feature comedy sketches, reviews, and original content similar to G4’s “Attack of the Show,” which Chobot is a regular contributor to.
The Nerdist Channel is a premium YouTube channel launched by celebrity podcaster and comedian Chris Hardwick. The channel focuses on a variety of programs centered around “nerd culture.” The YouTube channel is perhaps best known for its “All-Star Celebrity Bowling,” which pits the Nerdist crew against famous actors like Bryan Cranston & Aaron Paul of “Breaking Bad.”
“Nerdist News” will air on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting on November 4, 2013. The series is produced by Chobot, Andrew Bowser, and former “Attack of the Show” producer Michael Shaw.
