Benny and Rafi Fine, known on YouTube as The Fine Bros., have signed with William Morris Endeavor, one of the largest talent agencies in Hollywood. The brotherly duo, who currently reach more than 6.4 million subscribers on their main YouTube channel, are known for writing, directing, and producing a variety of content. Projects include the popular “React” franchise, the “MyMusic” transmedia series, and interactive content like the choose-your-own-adventure-style “Freaks & Geeks” adaptation.
The Fine Bros. are now looking to expand their attention to film and television. This follows recent efforts by prominent YouTubers to break into traditional media circles — Shane Dawson, who a few months ago was signed by UTA, just sold a comedy series based on his life to NBC, and Jimmy Tatro, who is also represented by UTA, appears in “Grown-Ups 2” earlier this year.
To the duo’s credit, their work already is similar in style, structure, and visual quality to the content you see on television. That’s not to say the expansion to traditional media will be easy, but it certainly doesn’t hurt their chances.
