Just days after announcing its relatively impressive year-end revenue numbers, video platform Vimeo has updated its iOS mobile app to feature more offline functionality and a Facebook-integrated feed.
Updating with a feature called AirDrop, version 4.0.5 of the Vimeo app supports the ability to share synced videos with nearby friends without an internet connection. This function adds to the Vimeo apps’ pre-existing feature, which allows users to download videos and watch them offline — something YouTube is also developing for its own mobile app.
The feed, which Vimeo is calling “Incoming,” shows users the videos their Facebook friends are sharing. Being Facebook-integrated, those wishing to use Incoming must be synched up with the social media platform first.
General performance has also been tuned up in the latest iPhone update. This includes a more functional “Watch it Later” mode, both WiFi and cellular data options for video syncs, and minor bug fixes.
The update is available to all iOS users in the Apps Store.
