Disney Interactive has premiered “It’s a Small World: The Animated Series,” a new video series inspired by the Disney Parks attraction of the same name.
Debuting today across Disney.com, Disney’s YouTube network, and Disney’s connected-TV apps, the eight-episode animated adventure series follows a group of children from different countries as they cross the globe to explore new lands. Sponsored by language-learning brand Rosetta Stone, education appears to be a major element of the show, which will look to introduce viewers (kids) to new customs and languages.
The animation for “It’s a Small World” is based off of long-time Disney artist Mary Blair’s original designs for the It’s a Small World theme park ride. The show also features original music from Richard Sherman, the legendary songwriter behind the ride’s famous theme song.
