Netflix has announced its second original animated series, an adult comedy called “BoJack Horseman” starring Will Arnett and Aaron Paul.
“BoJack Horseman” will tell the tale of its titular character, described as the legendary star of a ’90s family sitcom who has been trying to survive once his star faded into washed-up TV territory. Now he’s trying to make a comeback, abetted by his human sidekick Todd and his feline agent and ex-lover Princess Caroline.
The cast is headlined by Arnett as Horseman, Paul as Todd, and Amy Sedaris as Princess Caroline.
Produced by Tornante Company, the investment firm founded by former Disney CEO Michael Eisner, the show will debut with a 12-episode first season in all Netflix territories in mid-2014.
“BoJack Horseman” is created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, and executive produced by Bob-Waksberg, Steven A. Cohen, and Noel Bright. Arnett and Paul will also serve as executive producers. BoJack was designed by graphic artist Lisa Hanawalt and will be animated by LA-based Shadow Machine.
