Ari Mark, AMC’s director of development for unscripted programming, has been tapped to join Microsoft where he will help develop original content for Xbox Entertainment Studios. As first reported by Variety, Mark will work on several Xbox-exclusive projects, which are already rumored to tie-in with the game console’s predominantly male audience.
Previous to Microsoft, Mark served at AMC where he helped create unscripted shows like “The Pitch” and “The Walking Dead” post-show “The Talking Dead.” The former AMC director also worked at Embassy Row and Sundance Channel.
Mark will server under former CBS Television Studios president Nancy Tellem, who joined Microsoft in 2012. After joining the console manufacturer, Tellem also hired former NBC programming exec Jada Miranda. Miranda now serves as SVP creative at Xbox Entertainment Studios.
