‘Friends’ Producers Launch New Series on Maker Studios’ Nacho Punch

Maker Studios has partnered with Studio 2.0, a short-form production division of the Warner Bros. Television Group, to launch a new web series created by Emmy-winning “Friends” executive producers Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen.
Titled “Robin Banks and the Bank Roberts,” the heist comedy series follows a trio of bumbling bank robbers from one bungled crime to the next. The main characters, Robin (the leader), Robert (the tech wiz), and Bobby (the loose cannon), are played by Michael Mosely (“Scrubs”), Josh Zuckerman (“Desperate Housewives”), and Tony Cavalero* (“2 Broke Girls”), respectively.
Created and written by Reich and Cohen, “Robin Banks” premiered today on the Nacho Punch YouTube channel (over 925,000 subscribers), with nine additional episodes to roll out every Wednesday through March 19. The series will expand to “additional distribution platforms” beginning in February.
“It’s the most juvenile and idiotic thing we’ve ever done and we are very proud to share it with the world. Unfortunately, we only have a dial-up modem and a CompuServe account so we won’t be able to watch, but we hope other people enjoy it,” said Reich and Cohen in a statement.
Nacho Punch is Maker’s recently formed comedy network, which offers a variety of comedy content from creators signed to Maker. This deal follows an earlier one Maker signed with Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Digital to produce a second season of the independent comedy series, “Next Time on Lonny.”
