WheezySoup was formed by Benzine and Hogan after the two met at Playlist Live in 2013. The business was initially set up to develop their mobile video charades game, I’m Actin’ Here. Since then, the company has launched several offshoots of the I’m Actin’ Here brand, including a blog and a collaboration channel devoted to helping smaller YouTubers gain exposure.
According to Hogan, the goal of the venture is “to create awesome stuff.” As WheezySoup’s new director of brand and product relations, Christopher Bingham will assist in those efforts, which in the near future include a version 2.0 of the I’m Actin’ Here iOS app.
Bingham will also be in charge of a 2014 charity initiative at WheezySoup. Hogan didn’t provide specific details about the company has planned as part of the initiative, though he did disclose that the company plans to donate 50% of all net revenue from the initiative to various charities.
Via his sketch comedy channel Slomozovo, Bingham currently reaches more than 150,000 subscribers on YouTube. He got his start on the site in 2006, and was behind the launch of several other channels like BingRadio (46,000+ subs) and Talk (17,000+ subs).
