Kevin Khandjian, the co-creator and former producer of Playlist Live, the largest gathering on the East Coast for YouTubers and their fans, has joined WheezySoup in an advisory capacity. He is also taking some shares in the company.
WheezySoup is a business founded by YouTubers Craig Benzine (Wheezy Waiter) and Matt Hogan (GlobalSoup) to develop products like I’m Actin’ Here, a mobile video charades app. The two creators actually met and had the idea for the WheezySoup business at Playlist Live 2013, so Khandjian joining the team brings things back full circle.
As an advisor, Khandjian will have a lot of “specific responsibilities,” says Hogan in the announcement. These include developer relations, technical consulting, and new product development.
WheezySoup seems to be staffing up. Two weeks ago, the company added YouTuber Christopher Bingham (Slomozovo) to its executive team in the role of director of brand and product relations. His responsibilities include overseeing the company’s charity initiatives in 2014.
