Back in October, Hearst and AwesomenessTV announced plans to launch a new multi-channel network for teen girls. The MCN, which will be overseen by AwesomenessTV, will center on Hearst’s existing YouTube channel for teen magazine Seventeen, while also giving teen girls the chance to create channels and content for the larger network.
To get the refreshed channel and network off the ground, AwesomenessTV and Hearst have brought on several YouTubers who cater to the same teen girl demographic that the Seventeen MCN is looking to reach. These creators include Becky G, Meredith Foster, Meghan Rosette, Heart Defensor, and Lisa Schwartz, each of whom will host their own show on the Seventeen Network.
Here’s the full launch slate:
“Seventeen Daily”: Every morning, Seventeen Influencers will provide outfit inspiration, beauty tips, guy advice, and an aspirational message to make sure viewers start their day off right.
“Beauty Smarties”: Seventeen’s own YouTube beauty-guru superstars share their best hair and makeup tricks and walk viewers through even the most complex looks with step-by-step videos.
“DIY Your Life”: From fashion and beauty to food and decorating, host Meredith Foster (StilaBabe09) shows viewers easy DIY ideas that will add a personal touch to any event, including girls’-night-in tips, style inspiration boards, and more.
“Fashion Remix”: The show’s host, Heart Defensor (ThatsHeart), shares her love of style, helping girls revamp their wardrobes with the freshest new trends.
“What’s in My Fridge?”: Each week, host Meghan Rosette (MeghanRosette) is challenged to whip up a yummy snack, using only the ingredients suggested in user-submitted videos.
“Promposals”: From coordinating band serenades to giant flash mobs, 16-year-old singer, songwriter, rapper, and host Becky G (Becky G) gives guys the nudge they need to ask their crushes to prom in a big way.
“Hot Guy Showdown”: The hilarious and talented comedian Lisa Schwartz (Lisbug) hosts YouTube hotties as they compete in fun challenges for a chance to be on Seventeen’s Hot Guy Panel.
“Seventeen on the Scene”: Viewers will receive an all-access pass to red carpets, exclusive events, and even the Seventeen offices.
“Seventeen Stars”: A monthly exclusive four-part miniseries featuring Seventeen’s cover celebrity.
All of Seventeen’s original content is produced by AwesomenessTV at the network’s studio in Los Angeles.
