Defy Media has revamped the Smosh mobile app for iOS devices. It now offers comedy videos from Smosh’s main YouTube channel, as well as from other Smosh-branded channels like Smosh Games and Shut Up! Cartoons. With the reboot, the app now also features comedy video content from Break.com.
The inclusion of the latter is an obvious result of the Alloy Digital-Break Media merger, which created Defy Media last fall. Break.com, which focuses on male comedy content, is Break Media’s top property.
Smosh, the name given to the comedy duo Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla, sits near the top of the YouTube food chain. Their main channel reaches more than 16.8 million subscribers, while Smosh Games has 3.9+ million subscribers and Shut Up! Cartoons draws more than 1.47 million.
