Electus Digital, which oversees sites like CollegeHumor and Dorkly, will now also conduct ad sales for Demand Media’s Cracked.com. As a result, the three properties will be folded into a new media network called the CollegeHumor/Cracked Network, primarily reaching comedy-loving 18- to 34-year-olds.
Under the terms of the deal, Electus Digital says it will offer custom branded content opportunities and “high-impact ad units” for the network. Formats will include custom branded video, which CollegeHumor already has extensive expertise in producing.
Expect the new CollegeHumor/Cracked Network to show up in comScore’s February rankings for the top web properties in the US.
Electus Digital, the digital creative and distribution arm of the IAC-owned Electus, was formed in January to spearhead the development of new video content across platforms. Along with CollegeHumor and Dorkly, Electus Digital also houses properties like Loud, Nuevon, Hungry, and dumbdumb, the production company founded by Will Arnett and Jason Bateman.
