Amazon announced on its home page today that it has raised the price of its Prime subscription service from $79 to $99 per year. Prime gives you access to unlimited free two-day shipping on many items, plus access to thousands of streaming movies and TV shows through Amazon Instant Video, a service similar to Netflix.

The prison dramedy, created by Jenji Kohan (“Weeds”), tells the story of an upper-middle-class white woman who’s imprisoned due to some poor decisions she made during a particularly rebellious stage in her life. Across the 13-episode first season, the character, Piper, has to deal with a world that she’s not all-too-familiar with.
