Every March 14th, mathematicians and laypeople alike use the date to honor our favorite irrational number, pi. Today, 3.14159265358979 (and on and on and on) gives YouTubers the chance to create some tentpole content embracing the number that represents the ratio between a circle’s circumference and its diameter.
Watch Numberphile to witness the creation of pi with real pies (in a cleverly-timed 3:14-long video), or check out Winnie Cooper (aka Danica McKeller) explain the ratio on Nerdist’s “Math Bites”:
Rosanna Pansino shows you how to make “nerdy nummies.”
The Numberphiles actually calculate pi with pies!!
Science truly is a part of the apple blackberry pie-making experience.
