Maker Studios, fresh off its $500-plus million sale to Disney, has inked a deal with actress/singer Kat Graham to exclusively distribute her new music documentary series, “Breaking the Record.”
Across 13 episodes, “Breaking the Record” will follow Graham’s efforts to release and promote her first full-length album. The show will capture various “backstage” moments from dance rehearsals to radio interviews and television appearances.
The series will be available on Maker Music, which has more than 200,000 subscribers on YouTube.
As part of the overall deal, Maker Studios will also manage Graham’s YouTube presence, helping her to build an audience for her official channel.
Graham currently stars on The CW’s “Vampire Diaries” and is signed to Interscope Records.
Ever since hiring Erin McPherson to oversee content in late 2013, Maker Studios has been signing an array of content and distribution deals with artists such as will.i.am and Steve-O, as well as producers like Just for Laughs, Warner Bros.’ Studio 2.0, and Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Digital.
