We are a little over two months away from Vidcon 2014 — the annual gathering of online video creators, their frenzied fans, and the industry intellectuals who observe it all with a mixture of befuddlement and amazement — which will be held on June 26–28 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California.
As the date approaches, the conference continues to unveil the list of speakers, stars, and events planned for those three days in Anaheim.
Keynote speakers will include Vidcon co-founder and bestselling author John Green, former NBCUniversal digital executive Lauren Zalaznick, Fullscreen founder and CEO George Strompolos, Rooster Teeth’s Michael “Burnie” Burns, AwesomenessTV founder and CEO Brian Robbins, Sarah Penna, Grace Helbig, and Freddie Wong.
The list of YouTube stars already confirmed to attend is long (as it obviously would be), but it includes heavyweights such as Philip DeFranco, Justine Ezarik, Hank and John Green, the Smosh duo, Grace Helbig, Shane Dawson, Freddie Wong, The Fine Brothers, Rhett & Link, and others.
A few more industry-centric events were also announced, covering topics such as:
- How We Know About Our Audience and What It Means for Our Content
- Launching a Channel in 2014
- Integrations Without Breaking the Law, Alienating Your Audience, or Getting a Terrible Deal
- Just Ask: Letting Your Audience Pay
- Do We Have a Responsibility to Our Communities and the World?
- The Bigger Pie: Revenue Beyond Advertising
Attendance for the fifth installment of Vidcon is expected to clear 18,000.
Sponsors for the conference include YouTube, as well as most of the major MCNs including Maker Studios, AwesomenessTV, Fullscreen, and StyleHaul. Full disclosure: VideoInk will be there this year as an official media sponsor.
